Jaclyn Quiles-Nohar

Jaclyn ("J") Quiles-Nohar is a senior program associate with the Reshaping Prosecution program, working with elected prosecutors across the country to end mass incarceration, address racial disparities, and make their offices more accountable to the communities they serve. Prior to joining Vera in 2020, J served as an investigative attorney in the Office of the Inspector General for the New York City Police Department (NYPD) at the NYC Department of Investigation, where they independently oversaw and investigated the policies and practices of the NYPD. Prior to that role, J served as a prosecutor at the King's County District Attorney’s Office where, in addition to prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases of domestic violence, they created an office-wide policy that District Attorney Eric Gonzalez adopted to decrease the harms caused to the LGBTQ+ community by the criminal legal system. J also participated in Gonzalez's Justice 2020 committees and served as the office’s LGBTQ+ liaison. J earned their JD from Hofstra University's Maurice A. Dean School of Law. J also holds BA degrees in government and law and English from Lafayette College.
